Week 8 #3

In chapter 23 talks about humans love to tell stories to communicate with each other. In our daily life. we listen to stories or tell stories everyday. When we were young, our parents taught us the own culture by telling stories. When we went to schools, our teachers told stories to teach us the school rules. The teachers spent enough time telling or reading stories to teach us norm and the rules of our society. When we are adults, our friends have problems and need us to help, we give the friends examples to help them find out the solution. Therefore, telling stories is an important communication way in our daily life. People feel more confortable to accept the story telling. And people believe that humans can learn a lot from the stories.

I loved this section. Stories are such an important role in everyday life. Stories have evolved in our lives as well. At first they were for learning purposes, such as the Native Americian teaching the way of the spirits. Now they can be defined as an event that took place at work. I love stories, whether its in book, movie, or speech form.

I also loved this section of the chapter. As rileygirl said, stories really are as important as any role there is in everyday life. Stories can be as simple is a native folktale or even something as simple as a children's story, but it is absolutely true that what happened at the workplace, school or even at home can be defined as a story.

Stories are a humongous part of how people in our society learn their ideologies and who they are to become as they grow older. Stories help us form who we are! I think it is because we feel that we can connect with personal stories much deep than we could ever connect with people telling us how we should feel, think, and act. Stories were the most primitive way to communicate feelings and idea; and even with all the great technological advances of our time, I still think they play the greatest role in communicating important ideas.

I thought this was a very good section as well. People have communicated through stories from the beginning of time. Although some stories are more true then others, I think they are an excellent way to pass on information from one individual to another. I think it is also interesting that depending on the person who is telling the story depends on whether we will believe it an incorperate it in our daily life. I feel that the communication I have with my mother is best when telling stories of what is going on in our lives.
